Light Seekers
Light Seekers will be an introduction to French and American Impressionist artists and learning how to set up paint palettes used by those artists. The highlight of each day will be painting outdoors on the beautiful grounds of the Guild’s Robert T. Webb Sculpture garden.

Cubists
Cubist campers will be introduced to the most recognizable art style in the 20th Century. Students will complete paintings using geometry in art by recording objects from many and varied angles. Various materials will be utilized including pens, colored pencils, collage, and paint.

Imaginary Realism
Imaginary Realism campers will use their imaginations to draw a character or scene inspired by James Guerney, creator of Dinotopia.  From the 2-D drawings students will create a 3-D form using clay, cardboard and fabric.  The artwork will then be used as the model for a painting of their fantasy world or character.

Sculpture Magic
Sculpture Magic will develop a student’s sculpture making ability from idea to finished state. Students will gain experience working with basic three-dimensional materials, such as wood, paper, wire, and found objects while exploring the basic principles of 3D Design (line, shape, space, and texture).

Art in Nature
Art in Nature campers will explore their natural surrounding and experiment with art making using both found objects in nature and repurposed items. Guided by Melissa Herz, they will spend their week learning new skills and creating a collection of artworks inspired by their observations of the world around them.

Painting Puppies & Collaging Kitties
Join the Creative Arts Guild for this exciting new Art Camp! Each day, a special animal friend will visit the class from Animal Hospital of Whitfield County. Campers will enjoy a special lesson about the visiting animal led by veterinary staff before creating a new masterpiece inspired by their friend of the day. A piece from each camper will be selected to be made into a print to hang in the lobby of Animal Hospital of Whitfield County.

“My Kid Could Do That!” (Ages 5 – 9 Only)
Taught by Creative Arts Guild Gallery Director, Savannah Thomas, this camp will explore art through the lens of line, color, pattern, and texture. Your child will have fun creating stimulating work with a variety of materials and mediums while learning about abstract expressionism, pop art, and folk art.

Adventures in Art (Ages 9 – 14 Only)
Join Paula Plott Gregg for this adventure-filled four-day camp as students explore and challenge themselves with new techniques. Student artists will have fun — and get a little messy — as they embark on creative projects using clay, collage, wood, and mixed media to make their own masterpieces.

Out of This World Art
Over the course of this four-day camp, we will delve into space and learn more about the universe around us. Combining art, science, and LOTS of imagination, campers will be creating works of art that are truly out of this world!

Children and Teens Art Camps, 2518 Cleveland Hwy:

Guild Policies and Procedures

Registration Fees
Each Visual Arts, Gymnastics, Dance and Music family is charged a registration fee of $30 per family per year. This fee helps to cover administrative costs, overhead, and to offset the cost of the online registration system throughout the year. This fee also holds your student's spot in their class. Registration fees are billed once yearly per family and covers all members of the household in any Guild classes with which they participate.

Withdrawal Policy
Registering for a class and/or lesson is a commitment to attend as scheduled. Visual Art classes are billed in session so the Guild must be notified before the next session begins. Students withdrawing from a session after the session has started are responsible for those sessions fees.
