Dia de los Muertos - November 1

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE HOLIDAY

Join us in our Spigel Pavilion on Friday, November 1, 2024 as we celebrate and remember our loved ones who have passed on. Dia de los Muertos is a traditionally Mexican holiday that honors the dead with lively celebrations, and we are thrilled to help present an event that celebrates ancestry, incorporates art and ritual, and celebrates a culture that is so rich and vibrant in our community.

Here are 5 ways you can get involved in our celebration:

1. Attend - Our Dia de los Muertos Celebration is open to all with FREE ADMISSION. We will have live music, food, drinks, vendors, kids crafts, and more!

2. Honor Your Loved Ones - If you have a loved one you would like to honor or remember, bring a photo or memento to place on the community altar that we will provide. You can also sign up to build your own ofrenda if you'd like - contact Sarah Murry at sarahm@creativeartsguild.org before Thursday, October 26 if you're interested.

3. Dress to Impress - Be a part of our costume contests! Adults are invited to wear their best Catrina/Catrin costume and kids are invited to wear whatever costume they'd like. No need to sign up - just listen for the contest announcement about halfway through the event and come forward. We'll have prizes for the winners!

4. Light Up The Night - We will have a lantern parade around our grounds when it gets dark. Bring your own lantern or purchase one during the event and light up the night in celebration of our ancestors and loved ones!

The kids craft area, bar, food vendors, and merchandise vendors will be open from 6-10pm. Face painting will be available from 6-8pm.

FREE ADMISSION - Open to all!
