The Creative Arts Guild’s 49th annual FESTIVAL of Fine Arts and Crafts attracts artists, art lovers, musicians and families from throughout the southeastern United States.    FESTIVAL has something for all ages and types of patrons.

FESTIVAL 2012 is scheduled for September 15 and 16 at the Creative Arts Guild located at 520 West Waugh Street, Dalton, GA.
According to Creative Arts Guild Executive Director, Terry Tomasello, this year’s FESTIVAL will have a few new offerings, including the addition of an Acoustic Music Showcase.  “Festival attendees have always enjoyed a variety of musical acts and performers we’ve presented in the past.  Our hope this year is to take this to another level by creating an Acoustic Music Showcase”. According to FESTIVAL Music Co-Chair David Aft, “There are so many great acoustic acts around the southeast and we know that they will really enjoy a performance opportunity dedicated to their craft.  FESTIVAL is a perfect venue for this type of program and I think that the Showcase will fill a significant gap in area musical offerings”.

Over the next several months, the Guild will be recruiting bands and encouraging solo acoustic duos and trios to apply to perform Acoustic acts that are interested in playing at FESTIVAL should visit the Guild’s website and follow the link for the Acoustic Showcase.  Leanne Lawson noted that applications will be reviewed  by the FESTIVAL Music Committee later this summer .

According to David Aft, “If this year’s approach is successful, we hope that the Acoustic Showcase will become a permanent part of the Guild’s work to promote area artists and share their work with the people and arts patrons of the area.”
