February’s First Friday features the self-taught artistic husband and wife team of Charles and Suzan Buckner. Both self-taught artists will be displaying their self-described folk artworks in Gallery 111 this Friday, February 5th. The Denise Stewart-Sanabria and Corey Barksdale exhibit continues in the Guild’s Main Gallery.

The Creative Arts Guild’s Studio 111 Takes 1st Place at Sydney Pollack Invitational PDF Print E-mail

Team 111, the Creative Arts Guild’s competitive gymnastics team, competed at the Sydney Pollack Invitational in Douglasville, GA on Saturday, January 16. The team’s Level 2 gymnasts placed 1st overall at the meet competing against teams from Georgia counties including Carroll, Troup, Cobb and Bowden.

The Team’s Level 2 and Level 4 gymnasts achieved personal best scores of the season with Elyse Rann, Amanda Torres, and Ava Knowles placing 1st All Around in their respective age bracket. The Level 4 gymnasts placed All-Around as well; Avery Lusk 2nd, Olivia Ross 4th, and Amber Fischer 5th.

The Sydney Pollack Invitational marks the fifth meet the Team has competed in during its inaugural season. “Despite starting late in the season with our competitive program, we have had much success,” comments Minnette Lusk, the Gymnastics Director for the Creative Arts Guild. “These gymnasts and their parents are incredibly supportive of the

Beat The Winter Blues An Evening of Jazz PDF Print E-mail

The Creative Arts Guild kicks off its Beat the Winter Blues Series with an evening of jazz by The Dave Pope Trio featuring vocalist India Galyean.  The Dave Pope Trio is guitarist Dave Pope, bassist Time Delaney and percussionist Bill Norman.  January’s Beat the Blues eveing is Friday, January 22 at 6:00.  Tickets are $40 per person and include entertainment, dinner and desserts by Gaye Tate of Unique Impressions and beverages.  For more information or to make a reservation, call the Guild at 706.278.0168.
