The Guild Dance Program offers instruction in modern as well as classical styles of dance for all ages and skill levels; we have classes for toddlers, children, teens, and adults! (Moms and Dads: It's never too late to start dancing!)

Dance Tots | ||||

Students participate along with their parent or caregiver to help them in the correct movements and encourage the caregiver/child bond. This class includes stretching and body awareness exercises and traveling steps that are practiced while holding the hand of the parent. The last segment of the class is devoted to creative time between the caregiver and child. This class meets once a week for 30 minutes. Comfortable clothes should be worn with socked or bare feet. | ||||

Adult Ballet, Stretch, and Strengthening | ||||

This class combine the strengthening and elongation of a traditional ballet barre and center to work your body top to bottom. It is a beginning to intermediate level ballet class that offers a fun way to add to your workout routine. Both beginners and dancers with previous dance training are welcome. Creative Movement | ||||

In an atmosphere of fun, this class is designed to introduce the young student to the world of dance. While teaching all of the ballet basics, the class is formatted in a creative way to hold the attention of young dancers and keep them engaged. Children will develop an awareness of music and rhytms, and will learn to use their bodies and imaginations. Students should wear pink tights, pink ballet slippers, and the appropriate leotard color as indicated below. | ||||

Classical Ballet and Pointe | |||||

Ballet is a beautiful art form that requires dedication and discipline. It is an excellent form of exercise for all ages, toning, and strengthening the entire body while helping to promote good posture and alignment. Pointe work begins around the age of 10 for the serious dance student after fulfilling the appropriate requirements. Students should wear pink tights, pink ballet slippers, and the appropriate leotard color as indicated below. | |||||

Guild Dance Ensemble | |||||

The purpose of the Guild Dance Ensemble is to provide a place for trained young dancers who have a commitment and desire to be stronger dancers but don't seek a pre-professional track in dance The Ensemble is for dancers ages 12 and up who have previous dance training. Designed for Ballet Dalton Company Members, this class offers an extras dancing opportunity to continue to gain strength and knowledge in ballet technique. Focused around the Youth America Grand Prix, dancers will each learn and rehearse a classical ballet variation that they will compete in the annual YAGP regional competition in Atlanta, Ga. These dancers also have additional performance opportunities in our end of the year Spring Concert and Recital and various community events. The monthly fee for this class also includes a discounted rate for a 30-minute monthly private lesson. | ||||

Guild Policies and Procedures
Spring Recital: All dancers at the Creative Arts Guild will perform in the annual Spring Recital. Scheduled dates are May 10th (Intermediate 3/4 and Up, 'Tween Beats Hip Hop, and Hip Hop Dance Crew) and May 11th, 2019 (entire school). In-theater rehearsals will be held May 6-9, 2019 and are required.
Recital Costume Fees: A recital costume fee of $80 per class/per costume will be due no later than November 1st. You may pay costume fees in installments prior to December if needed. Please indicate on your payment that it is for recital costumes.
Recital Fee: The spring performance fee is $30/family and is due by February 15. This fee is for facility rental, lighting, and other off property expenses that we incur.
Snow Queen: The fee for Snow Queen is $30 per dancer and is due by October 15th. The Snow Queen production will be held November 15-18, 2018 at the Dalton High School Theater. In-theater rehearsals will be November 12-14, 2018 and are required.
Class Attire: Please note your specific class colors. Appropriate leotards for your child's class level are available in the Guild Shop. Leotards need to be purchased from our Guild Shop so that they have the appropriate color and Guild logo embroidery. If there is not a leotard that is currently in the shop that is your child's correct size, please see the front desk to pre-order your child's leotard.
Session: Yearly session is August 6th-May 17th, 2019. Although months vary in the number of weeks, Monday-Thursday classes receive 37 taught classes throughout the yearly session. Tuition remains the same each month. Rehearsals, additional practice, performances and open gyms cover the additional class times which exceeds the 40 weeks of paid tuition.
Registration Fee: Each Visual Arts, Gymnastics, Dance and Music family is charged a registration fee of $30 per family per year. This fee helps to cover administrative costs, overhead, and to offset the cost of the online registration system throughout the year. This fee also holds your student's spot in their class. Registration fees are billed once yearly per family and covers all members of the household in any Guild classes with which they participate.
Withdrawal Policy: Registering for a class and/or lesson is a commitment to attend as scheduled. If for any reason you or your student cannot continue, you must notify the Guild through written notice, verbal notice or by using our online system. Accounts are charged for classes until a withdrawal request is received. 30 -day notice must be given for Dance and Music classes that are billed monthly. Students withdrawing from class or lessons with less than 30 -day notice must pay for the following month.
