New Theater Programs at the Creative Arts Guild
With the addition of Jackie Daniels to the staff of the Creative Arts Guild, three new theater classes are being offered this fall. In addition, Jackie is planning the creation to a student theater company.
A student theater troupe at the Creative Arts Guild, really? It’s time; time to get down to business – Monkey Business, that is, a class for first through third grades. It promises to be too much fun while building stage and acting skills. In the Monkey See Monkey Do class for grades 4 through 6, students will concentrate action/reaction enabling them to understanding that acting revolves around reaction. Finally, the Monkey Shines class will concentrate on performance skills. These three new classes are meant to reveal all aspects of theater performances.
“The Creative Arts Guild is perfect. Theater is a combination of visual arts, music, dance and gymnastics—could a more perfect environment exist?” says Ms. Daniels. Jackie plans to reap the harvest of her labor from the theater classes by forming the troupe. The Guild students will be able to audition for the troupe giving them the stag experience that can be applied to any theater production.
Jackie’s experience comes from over 20 years in teaching theater, 15 of which were in the Whitfield County School District. Under Jackie’s direction, her students have won numerous awards including State of Georgia literary competition.
“We are excited about the new opportunities in theater that will be offered at the Guild” says Director, Tony Zanfardino.
Classes will start on Monday so there is still time to register. For more information, please call the Creative Arts Guild at 706-278-0168 or visit the Guild’s website at www.creativeartsguild.org.
The Creative Arts Guild is the oldest multi-disciplinary community based arts organization in Georgia.
